The plan for TailoredDriver.com was to create a destination for those who prefer a more refined specification for their vehicles. The idea then was to create distinctive branding that pays homage to the fashionable yet timeless nature of a bespoke specification or a well-tailored automobile.
The ‘About’ summary draft is as follows:
Seeking more than the sea of monotone in today’s automotive landscape? So are we. Tailored Driver exists just beyond the intersection of obsessive and compulsive, for those who see the brochure as merely a starting point, and have the drive to execute their dreams.
This website is for those who believe the automobile is so much more than mere transportation appliance. It is for those who see their automobile as an extension of themselves and a conduit for self expression no matter what level of the automotive spectrum they inhabit.
Once you open the pandora’s box of automotive tailoring, you’ll see there is a veritable universe of brands and companies offering everything from special editions, special paint or trim, to bespoke one-of-one creations.
We believe this is a long underserved niche in the automotive space. Countless aficionados on platforms such as Instagram have done an incredible job communicating special builds in a sharable way. However, those platforms are vast and unreliable at communicating happenings in the space. With the TailoredDriver.com website, we aim to provide a home for those as fixated on unique and bespoke automobiles as much as we are.
Using the A.I. tool Midjourney, we sought to create a simple black and white icon design with both car and tailor theme. One image that stuck out was this four-spoke simple steering wheel design backed by a checkered flag that suggests both fabric design and also the checkered flags that are synonymous with motor racing. Working from that icon, the design was built and further refined to include text and a two-color logo that is unique, immediately recognizable while communicating the automotive fashion theme, and will readily transfer well to embroidery, badging or lapel pin.
