Designer Walter De Silva became available for interview during the Legends of the Autobahn event at Monterey Car Week. Tapping experience with the Audi brand, Volkswagen Group and with interviewing designers, this job involved travel to Monterey Car Week for an in-person interview, further research of De Silva, show production (with assistance from Audi Club North America staff on hand), production and editing including audio, video and graphic assets.<\/p>\n

Walter De Silva<\/strong><\/a> is a legend in automotive design. As former design chief for Audi and eventually the Volkswagen Group the Italian design icon created the Audi Singleframe Grill an helped rocket the four rings to the forefront during the 2000s and 2010s with cars like the R8, Q7, Mk2 TT and eventually touched nearly every other Audi, Lamborghini, Bugatti, Bentley, Volkswagen, SEAT, Skoda and more. We caught up with Walter and his son Alexandre De Silva<\/a><\/strong> at Monterey Car Week to recount his career at Audi and the VW Group, chat about his book\u00a0Il Codice De Silva<\/em>\u00a0and some of his other new ventures.<\/p>\n
